The video includes a demonstration of jo (short staff) techniques in Aikido. A jo is a 5 foot wooden staff. The jo was first used on an island near Shimonoseki, Japan. After days of meditation, the only person to have defeated the legendary Miyamoto Musashi in battle, was given guidance in his dreams. This was the beginning of jo-jutsu and Muso Shindo Ryu Jodo.
